Argyll & Bute

The aquaculture sector currently is growing in Argyll and Bute and is in one of only five locations in the world suitable for the farmed development of new species such as cod, haddock and halibut due to the warm and sheltered waters.
The aquaculture industry has had a positive effect in supporting 2000 permanent, non-seasonal and well-paid jobs in fragile and remote communities.
